Melissa calls herself “the office person” which means that she helps staff and visitors get where they need to go, does logistics for meetings, and keeps things running smoothly. Besides being a regular presence at the office, she also attends board meetings, helps with pastors’ breakfasts, and serves as the coordinator for Franconia Conference Assembly.

Melissa has been with the conference since 2007, and says the two skills she has found most useful in her work are offering hospitality–knowing how to welcome and accommodate everyone who walks through the door–and being organized.

Though she now attends Franconia Mennonite Church, Melissa grew up in Shickley, Nebraska. She holds degrees from Hesston College–where she met her husband, Isaac, and Tabor College, which granted her a degree in organizational communication.

When she’s not at the office, Melissa can often be found doing youth ministry work with her husband, who is the Junior High Youth Minister at Franconia Mennonite Church. She enjoys playing piano and traveling to see family and friends in various parts of the world, and tries to find time to read.
