Jenifer works with congregations that are in transition between pastors, and supports and resources intentional interim pastors. She is also a LEADership Minister, part of the oversight platform of the conference. Jenifer serves as a part-time interim minister herself, and also coaches congregational leadership teams.
Jenifer joined the conference in 2007, after graduating from Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary in Elkhart, Ind. Jenifer previously worked with a nonprofit organization as their language and literacy coordinator, where she gained a lot of practical experience with establishing organizational vision and mission, and moving forward through change. At the same time, Jenifer was involved in the leadership of Alpha Mennonite Church, where she was a part of the ministry team, preached, taught adult Sunday School, was a youth leader and helped the congregation through leadership transition. While in seminary, she worked with congregations in transition in the Indiana-Michigan conference.
Jenifer is inspired by seeing congregations discover where and how God is working among them and begin to move in the direction that God is calling them. She loves to see people become more fully who God has created them to be. Jenifer’s primary preoccupations outside of work are her two sons and husband Victor, who all speak Spanish at home. She enjoys reading, playing games, and really likes just talking to people over a cup of good coffee. Jenifer once spent a summer trapping bears, and has served with Youth Evangelism Service (YES) in the West Bank.
