PIMs: Grace Assembly Network

Grace Assembly Network in Haiti consists of 24 congregations, 1 orphanage, and 3 schools.  Leadership training and stability are key issues for the future of this vibrant network, located in the poorest nation in the western hemisphere.

In spite of this country’s decades of political instability and extreme economic hardships, Grace Assembly leader Pastor Lesly Bertrand feels a deep and compelling call of God to minister and plant Anabaptist churches among his native Haitian people. He believes that education and leadership development are key components for the future of the church in Haiti.

Franconia Conference and the Hopewell Network of churches are providing coaching to help Grace Assembly leaders begin micro-businesses to provide stable sources of income that can further enhance the ministry capacity of these unpaid ministry leaders. Franconia Conference leaders believe that we have the opportunity to learn from Grace Assembly’s spiritual vitality in all our congregations and ministries, to be inspired to pursue change and take faith steps, to embrace an identity beyond the American Mennonite world, to learn how to participate in mutual, global mission partnerships, to increase our intercultural sensitivity and skills, and to increase our confidence and passion in the gospel.
